LONGi
LONGi Green Energy Technology Co. Ltd., or simply LONGi, is a major player in the photovoltaic industry, originating in China. Founded in 2000, the company is committed to becoming a valuable solar technology company, with a mission focused on harnessing solar energy to build a greener world. Over the years, LONGi has become a leading manufacturer of solar modules and a developer of solar energy projects.
LONGi's distinctive focus on monocrystalline silicon technology has helped the company become the world's largest supplier of monocrystalline silicon wafers. This strategic focus is part of LONGi's vertically integrated photovoltaic (PV) value chain, encompassing solar wafers, cells, and modules, underscoring its commitment to accelerating the clean energy transition.
One of LONGi's significant achievements is its technological advancements, which have led to world records for solar efficiency. For example, LONGi Solar, a subsidiary of LONGi Green Energy Technology, set a new industry standard by achieving 23.6% conversion efficiency with its monocrystalline PERC (passivated emitter rear cell) solar cells, a feat recognized and approved by the China National Center for Photovoltaic Product Quality Supervision and Inspection (CPVT).
In 2022, LONGi demonstrated its global industry leadership by producing 85.9 gigawatts of solar wafers and 48.2 GW of solar modules, the highest in the world at that time. With production bases primarily in China, the company generated significant revenue, with solar wafer and solar module sales contributing 301 TP3T and 661 TP3T of revenue in 2022, respectively.
Through continuous innovation and expanding global operations, LONGi has firmly established itself as a key driver in the photovoltaic industry, significantly contributing to the global transition to renewable energy.
